Apex Fly Company Now Open For Business!
Apex Fly Company was an idea I came up with this year simply for the reason the that I have a deep passion for taking big predatory fish with the musky being at the top of that list on a fly, and that the flies available commercially are pathetic at best. At the end of our 2009 season my patience was growing thin being stuck with these weak, undersized, sorry excuses that the commercial tying industry were calling musky flies. Its just common sense that an elusive, bad ass, unforgiving fish like the musky needs more than a 6 inch rabbit strip to be coaxed into eating. While taking about it with fellow angler and commercial tyer, Mike Schmidt, I found he held many of the same views and also felt there was a niche to be filled. After a few evenings of flies going back and forth with ideas buzzing about, Apex Fly Co was born. Our goal with Apex Fly Co is to offer a wide range of patterns that will help anyone who chases predatory fish with a fly whether it's browns, musky, pike, peacocks, cobia, shark, or whatever your preferred predator may be by offering a selection of flies that not only look great but are tied with the best hooks and materials available. It is our belief that the best flies are engineered based on function first and looks second. All of the patterns offered from Apex have spent time in the water in pursuit of predator fish prior to being offered to ensure they perform as expected and most importantly...catch fish! The pictures below are just a sample of the pike/musky flies offered by Apex Fly Co. Every day we are creating and innovating new patterns for the apex predator of your choice. I am currently working on putting a website together until then if you are interested in purchasing any of the patterns you see here on the blog you can contact me via email at apexflycompany@gmail.com

  3. Spinning Reel for Specialized Fishing
Which catfish spinning rod do I use on my spinning reel?
The suitable catfish spinning rod for a spinning reel should have a casting weight of at least 100g to a maximum of 250g. The length of the catfish spinning rod depends on the area of application for spin fishing for catfish.

When catfish fishing from the boat, a short catfish spinning rod with a lot of power is required and a very strong backbone is used. There is not so much space on the boat and a short catfish spinning rod, boat rod or vertical rod for catfish is much easier to handle.

When catfish fishing from the bank, longer casting distances are important. Longer catfish spinning rods are an advantage here because these catfish rods can charge well when cast.

All spinning rods for catfish should have a robust reel seat to hold the catfish spinning reel. The clips under which the roller foot is inserted should be very robust. For this reason, catfish spinning rods are often provided with full metal, metal reinforced or graphite reel holders. This gives the spinning reel a good hold. As an alternative to a stationary spinning reel, multi-reels can also be used for spin fishing for catfish. Multi-reels for catfish can absorb more power with a comparatively smaller design and are particularly popular for vertical fishing for catfish, as the wilting animals can easily be changed in depth without having to fold down the bow each time. The use of heavy, large catfish baits from a fishing boat is much more comfortable with a multi reel

What do you need for spin fishing? Of course, fishing reels and spinning reels , because they belong to the basic equipment. But what makes a good role? On the one hand, robust and stable processing is important. On the other hand, it should not weigh unnecessarily much and also make a good visual impression - after all, the eye fishes with it. The most important tasks of a reel are the winding and storage of the line as well as the line delivery during the throw. top spinning reels
